Hlubek Dozark Law Office is located in Williamsburg, Iowa.

 

The Legal Assistant Intern, under general supervision of office staff, will learn about the daily operations of the office, and potential legal careers through this internship. 

 

Essential Functions:

  • Use and model appropriate behavior in keeping with the mission, vision, and beliefs of the organization, and in accordance with operation procedures and policies.
  • Welcome, value and nurture people of all backgrounds, perspectives, and experiences, as well as support and promote an environment that accepts differences.
  •  Operate copy machine, fax machine and other office equipment
  • Answer phone, take messages, operate copy and fax machine, and other office equipment.
  • Organize and set up case files.
  • Prepare documents for filing.
  • Run errands- take documents to Title Company, Bank, Post Office, Courthouse, Realtors.

Minimum Requirements:

  • Skills/Knowledge:  Must have the ability to follow instructions, strong organizational and communication skills, and be a courteous and respectful team-player.  Must be detail-oriented, and professional.  Trustworthy and confidential conduct is required; student must maintain client confidentiality at all times.  Intern must enjoy working with the public without bias, be a self-starter, motivated, and able to communicate clearly and concisely both verbally and in writing.  Must be poised, mature and possess a positive attitude while being open minded.
  •  Experience/Education:  Must be a high school student in good standing, and interested in pursuing a legal career after high school.  
  • Attire: Plan to dress appropriately for an office setting.  Khakis or dress pants, closed toed, comfortable shoes, and conservative/professional tops. 
  • General Physical Activities with or without reasonable accommodation:  Frequent sitting, standing, reaching, walking or lifting up to 30lbs.  Occasional kneeling, crouching, crawling, grasping, pulling, pushing or lifting over 30 lbs. 

 

THIS DESCRIPTION DOES NOT LIST ALL DUTIES. INTERN MAY BE ASKED TO PERFORM OTHER DUTIES BY THE STAFF OR SUPERVISOR. INTERN WILL BE EVALUATED ON PERFORMANCE OF THE PROJECTS LISTED AS WELL AS INTERACTION WITH EMPLOYEES AND CLIENTS.

 

 ON-SITE HOURS WILL BE NEGOTIATED WITH EACH CANDIDATE.

 

 SAFETY EXPECTATIONS, INCLUDING HARASSMENT, SHOULD BE REVIEWED WITH THE HOST.
