Auto Tech Academy Intern

Internship Length: 45 hrs
Office Hours: 8-12 am and 1-5 pm

Essential Functions:

Assist/observe in the repair of car engines when appropriate (from top of vehicle only when student is under 18); light mechanical work.
Shop/vehicle clean-up.
Physical inventory of parts.
Help keep work areas neat and organized to promote positive image. Use appropriate behavior in keeping with the mission, vision and beliefs and in accordance with operating procedures and policies.

Minimum Requirements:

Skills/Knowledge: Ability to follow instructions and understand the need to be detail-oriented.
Professional and trustworthy conduct is required.
Student is enrolled in the Auto Tech Dual-Credit Academy at Kirkwood.
Student should have a basic knowledge of tools.
Must be a high school student in good standing and at least 16 years old.
Must be possess a positive attitude while being flexible and be able to work with the public without bias.
Coveralls and/or jeans (no cargo or baggy) are appropriate.

THIS DESCRIPTION DOES NOT LIST ALL DUTIES. INTERN MAY BE ASKED TO PERFORM OTHER DUTIES BY THE STAFF OR SUPERVISOR. INTERN WILL BE EVALUATED ON PERFORMANCE OF THE PROJECTS LISTED AS WELL AS INTERACTION WITH EMPLOYEES AND CLIENTS. ON-SITE HOURS WILL BE NEGOTIATED WITH EACH CANDIDATE.

SAFETY EXPECTATIONS, INCLUDING HARASSMENT, SHOULD BE REVIEWED WITH THE HOST.
