Diagnostic Imaging Student Intern

Internship Length: 45 hrs
Office Hours: 8-5

Student will observe multiple areas in Diagnostic Imaging which may include

  • Radiology
  • Magnetic Resonance Imaging (MRI)
  • Ultrasonography (Ultrasound)
  • Echocardiography

Essential Functions:

  • Assist technologist with lifting and positioning of patients
  • Assist with room/equipment prep and clean-up
  • Observe procedures, assist technologist when appropriate
  • Help keep work areas neat and organized to promote positive image.  
  • Use appropriate behavior in keeping with the mission, vision and beliefs and in accordance with operating procedures and policies.

Minimum Requirements:

  • Be considerate to patients needs.
  • Strong organizational and communication skills in working with diverse clients. 
  • Reliable and trustworthy; able to work as a member of a work team.
  • Keep a professional manner in your actions and appearance.
  • Follow directions and have an eagerness to learn.
  • All Interns must complete "Student and Intern Requirements" paperwork, prior to starting thier on-site hours.

Other Guidelines:

  • If a patient has a medically related question, always refer them to the overseeing technologist.
  • Confidentiality is of utmost importance.
  • Patient’s charts are confidential and can only be read under the direct consent of the patient or technologist.

THIS DESCRIPTION DOES NOT LIST ALL DUTIES. INTERN MAY BE ASKED TO PERFORM OTHER DUTIES BY THE STAFF OR SUPERVISOR. INTERN WILL BE EVALUATED ON PERFORMANCE OF THE PROJECTS LISTED AS WELL AS INTERACTION WITH EMPLOYEES AND CLIENTS. ON-SITE HOURS WILL BE NEGOTIATED WITH EACH CANDIDATE.

SAFETY EXPECTATIONS, INCLUDING HARASSMENT, SHOULD BE REVIEWED WITH THE HOST.
