Middle School Nurse Internship

Internship Length: 45 hrs
Office Hours: 8-4

Essential Functions:

Greet students.
Data entry of student information, record retrieval, filing, place patients in exam rooms, making sure room is clean and tidy and readied.
Assist school nurse and department heads with data entry to student charts.
Assist with the filling out forms, placing orders by phone, sorting and distribution of prepackaged medicine ready for distribution.

Minimum Requirements:

Skills/Knowledge: Ability to follow instructions. Must have strong organizational skills, basic computer knowledge, and good aptitude for filing and be detail oriented. Communications skills, team player, and enjoy working with the public without bias or prejudice. Professional and trustworthy conduct is required. Student/patient confidentiality is a must.
Education/Experience: Must be a high school junior or senior in good standing. Must be poised, mature and possess a positive attitude while being flexible.
Business casual attire is required. We prefer no blue jeans and suggest comfortable shoes.

THIS DESCRIPTION DOES NOT LIST ALL DUTIES. INTERN MAY BE ASKED TO PERFORM OTHER DUTIES BY THE STAFF OR SUPERVISOR. INTERN WILL BE EVALUATED ON PERFORMANCE OF THE PROJECTS LISTED AS WELL AS INTERACTION WITH EMPLOYEES AND CLIENTS. ON-SITE HOURS WILL BE NEGOTIATED WITH EACH CANDIDATE.

SAFETY EXPECTATIONS, INCLUDING HARASSMENT, SHOULD BE REVIEWED WITH THE HOST.
