Electrician Intern

Internship Length: 45 hrs
Office Hours: To be arranged

Essential Functions:

This internship will provide the student with the opportunity for career exploration in the field of electrical wiring, troubleshooting and design.
Will work alongside senior electricians.
Should be self-motivated with a strong interest in basics of electricity.
Will assist in installing electrical wiring in both new home construction as well as existing home rewires.
Learn/perform basic low voltage and high voltage circuits.
Help keep work areas neat and organized to promote positive image. Use appropriate behavior in keeping with the mission, vision and beliefs and in accordance with operating procedures and policies.

Minimum Requirements:

Skills/Knowledge: Ability to follow instructions. Professional and trustworthy conduct is required. Must be courteous and respectful.
Must enjoy working indoors and outdoors.
Must be a high school student in good standing. Must be poised, mature and possess a positive attitude while being flexible.
Ability to work in a team environment.
Willing to take direction and work independently.
Good communication, organization and interpersonal skills.

THIS DESCRIPTION DOES NOT LIST ALL DUTIES. INTERN MAY BE ASKED TO PERFORM OTHER DUTIES BY THE STAFF OR SUPERVISOR. INTERN WILL BE EVALUATED ON PERFORMANCE OF THE PROJECTS LISTED AS WELL AS INTERACTION WITH EMPLOYEES AND CLIENTS. ON-SITE HOURS WILL BE NEGOTIATED WITH EACH CANDIDATE.

SAFETY EXPECTATIONS, INCLUDING HARASSMENT, SHOULD BE REVIEWED WITH THE HOST.
