Internship Length: 45 hrs

Essential Functions:

 

  • Grooming AND saddling OF horses.
  • Educate clients ON riding technique AND basic horsemanship.
  • Guiding small groups OF riders ON trail rides.
  • Give loving care TO ALL horses.
  • Help keep WORK areas neat AND organized TO promote positive image.  Use appropriate behavior IN keeping WITH the organization’s mission, vision AND beliefs, AND IN accordance WITH operating procedures AND policies.

 

Minimum requirements:

 

  • Skills/Knowledge:  Ability TO follow instructions.  Must have strong organizational AND communication skills, be a team player, AND enjoy working WITH the PUBLIC without bias OR prejudice.  Professional AND trustworthy conduct IS required.  Student must be courteous AND respectful TO our clients.
  • Experience/Education:  Must be a high school student IN good standing.  Must be poised, mature AND possess a positive attitude while being flexible.    
  • Knowledge OF horse behavior AND safety procedures.
  • Should be self-motivated, WORK well WITH others AND attention TO detail.

 

THIS DESCRIPTION DOES NOT LIST ALL DUTIES. INTERN MAY BE ASKED TO PERFORM OTHER DUTIES BY THE STAFF OR SUPERVISOR. INTERN WILL BE EVALUATED ON PERFORMANCE OF THE PROJECTS LISTED AS WELL AS INTERACTION WITH EMPLOYEES AND CLIENTS. ON-SITE HOURS WILL BE NEGOTIATED WITH EACH CANDIDATE.

SAFETY EXPECTATIONS, INCLUDING HARASSMENT, SHOULD BE REVIEWED WITH THE HOST.
