Marketing & Event Promotions Intern

Position Summary:

This internship gives high school students hands-on exposure to the field of marketing and event promotion. Interns will learn how businesses and organizations promote  services and events through digital, print, and community engagement strategies. Students will gain experience in communication, creativity, and teamwork while exploring career paths in marketing, advertising, and event promotion.

Responsibilities:

  • Assist with creating and posting content for social media platforms. 

  • Support promotions and  efforts.

  • Help design or edit basic marketing materials (flyers, newsletters, presentations).

  • Conduct simple market research, if applicable (e.g., surveys, competitor reviews).

  • Observe and learn about branding, customer engagement, and campaign planning.

Learning Objectives:

  • Understand the basics of marketing and sales, and their role in business.

  • Develop skills in communication, creativity, and organization.

  • Gain experience with digital tools, marketing platforms, and promotion techniques.

  • Learn about career and education pathways in marketing and promotions.

Qualifications:

  • High school student (11th - 12th grade).

  • Interest in business, communications, social media, design, and marketing.

  • Creative thinker with good written and verbal communication skills, with a knowledge of social media.

  • Reliable, organized, and willing to learn.

THIS DESCRIPTION DOES NOT LIST ALL DUTIES. INTERN MAY BE ASKED TO PERFORM OTHER DUTIES BY THE STAFF OR SUPERVISOR. INTERN WILL BE EVALUATED ON PERFORMANCE OF THE PROJECTS LISTED AS WELL AS INTERACTION WITH EMPLOYEES AND CLIENTS. ON-SITE HOURS WILL BE NEGOTIATED WITH EACH CANDIDATE.

SAFETY EXPECTATIONS, INCLUDING HARASSMENT, SHOULD BE REVIEWED WITH THE HOST.
