Business Development & Event Promotions Intern

Internship Length: 45 hrs
Office Hours: 8-5

Essential Functions:

  • Attend Board and Committee meetings, as able.
  • Assist with Festival button and merchandise activity; i.e. corporate button campaign, merchandise displays, in-house sales, tracking inventory, etc.
  • Help with in-house event planning and database control.
  • Deliver brochures, posters, buttons and merchandise to outlets.  (Must have reliable transportation.)
  • Assists with proofing and printing Festival materials.
  • In charge of facilitating and implementing on-site signage for all events.
  • Help keep work areas neat and organized to promote positive image.  Use appropriate behavior in keeping with the mission, vision and beliefs and in accordance with operating procedures and policies

Minimum Requirements:

  • Have strong spoken and written communication skills.
  • Conduct oneself in a professional manner and take pride in work.
  • Be willing to work extended hours and weekends. Weekend hours during Freedom Festival are due to scheduled events.
  • Be punctual and dependable. 
  • Be a self-starter, team player and able to perform routine tasks without being prompted.
  • Must be a high school student in good standing.   
  • Business casual attire.

THIS DESCRIPTION DOES NOT LIST ALL DUTIES. INTERN MAY BE ASKED TO PERFORM OTHER DUTIES BY THE STAFF OR SUPERVISOR. INTERN WILL BE EVALUATED ON PERFORMANCE OF THE PROJECTS LISTED AS WELL AS INTERACTION WITH EMPLOYEES AND CLIENTS. ON-SITE HOURS WILL BE NEGOTIATED WITH EACH CANDIDATE.

SAFETY EXPECTATIONS, INCLUDING HARASSMENT, SHOULD BE REVIEWED WITH THE HOST.
