The Computer Technician Intern will have the opportunity to gain an understanding of various aspects of daily operations at ITS.

 

Essential Functions:

  • Use and model appropriate behavior in keeping with company mission, vision, and beliefs and in accordance with operation procedures and policies. 
  • Welcome, value and nurture people of all backgrounds, perspectives, and experiences, as well as support and promote an environment that accepts differences.
  • The Computer Technician Intern will assist ITS Techs with daily tasks.
  • The intern will ride in company vehicles to job sites with city employees who have clearance to drive, as appropriate.
  • All internship candidates must pass a background check in order to be approved.

 

Minimum Requirements:

Skills/Knowledge:  Intern must possess the ability to follow instructions, work in a team environment as well as on an independent basis.  Must be detail-oriented, organized, able to complete assigned projects in a timely manner.  Professional, courteous, trustworthy, and confidential conduct is required.  Intern must enjoy working in a team environment as well as independently, be a self-starter, motivated, and able to communicate clearly and concisely both verbally and in writing. 

Experience/Education:  Must be a high school junior or senior in good standing, have basic PC knowledge, and demonstrated ability to us PC based software.  Must be poised, mature and possess a positive attitude while being flexible.

Attire: Plan to dress appropriately for varied work conditions.

General Physical Activities with or without reasonable accommodation:  Frequent reaching, walking and lifting up to 30lbs.  Occasional kneeling, crouching, crawling, sitting, standing, grasping, pulling, and pushing and lifting over 30 lbs. 

 

THIS DESCRIPTION DOES NOT LIST ALL DUTIES. INTERN MAY BE ASKED TO PERFORM OTHER DUTIES BY THE STAFF OR SUPERVISOR. INTERN WILL BE EVALUATED ON PERFORMANCE OF THE PROJECTS LISTED AS WELL AS INTERACTION WITH EMPLOYEES AND CLIENTS. ON-SITE HOURS WILL BE NEGOTIATED WITH EACH CANDIDATE.

SAFETY EXPECTATIONS, INCLUDING HARASSMENT, SHOULD BE REVIEWED WITH THE HOST.
