Internship Length: 45 hrs
Office Hours: 8-5

 

Functions:

  • Student will assist in catalogging archeological materials.

    Student will research, organize and inventory faunal materials for type collections

    Student will conduct and analyze experiments as part of their archeological projects customized to students interst and focus.

    May accompany host to local archeological sites.

 

 

Minimum Requirements:

  • Casual attire if acceptable. Jeans in good repair are allowed and student must dress appropriately for out of doors work when assigned site work with host.
  • Ability to follow instructions and safety regulations and procedures.
  • All internship applicants must be abide by strict confidentiality policy of the organization as it pertains to client projects and site exploration locations.
  • Basic understanding of communications skills.
  • Must be friendly and eager to work and learn.
  • Demonstrated ability to use PC-based office software such as Microsoft Word, Excel and Power Point.
  • Familiarity with the Internet is helpful.
  • Show an interest in the field of research
  • Excellent speaking and writing skills.
  • Must be courteous and respectful with both internal and external customers.
  • Ability to work in a team environment as well as independently.
  • Must be a high school junior or senior in good academic standing.

THIS DESCRIPTION DOES NOT LIST ALL DUTIES. INTERN MAY BE ASKED TO PERFORM OTHER DUTIES BY THE STAFF OR SUPERVISOR. INTERN WILL BE EVALUATED ON PERFORMANCE OF THE PROJECTS LISTED AS WELL AS INTERACTION WITH EMPLOYEES AND CLIENTS. ON-SITE HOURS WILL BE NEGOTIATED WITH EACH CANDIDATE.

SAFETY EXPECTATIONS, INCLUDING HARASSMENT, SHOULD BE REVIEWED WITH THE HOST.
