Nursing Student Intern

Internship Length: 45 hrs
Office Hours: 8AM - 5PM

Essential Functions:

Shadow staff nurses while attending to residents, setting up prescriptions, passing out medicine and other daily tasks.
Shadow CNA while assisting residents with walking or being transferred, bathing, taking vital signs, making beds and transporting residents.
Complete assigned duties such as passing out water, snacks, and delivering mail.
Restock patient care supplies.
Communicate and interact with residents, family and staff.
Exercise confidentiality of resident information at all times.
Help keep work areas neat and organized.
Use appropriate behavior in keeping with the mission, vision and beliefs of Parkview Manor and in accordance with operating procedures and policies.

Minimum Requirements:

Ability to follow instructions, be a team player, have a positive attitude and enjoy working with the elderly.
Must be detail oriented, flexible, courteous and professional.
Must have strong organizational and communication skills.
Must be a high school student in good standing.
A professional appearance is essential.

THIS DESCRIPTION DOES NOT LIST ALL DUTIES. INTERN MAY BE ASKED TO PERFORM OTHER DUTIES BY THE Staff or SUPERVISOR. INTERN WILL BE EVALUATED ON PERFORMANCE OF THE PROJECTS LISTED AS WELL AS INTERACTION WITH EMPLOYEES AND CLIENTS. On-site HOURS WILL BE negotiated WITH EACH CANDIDATE.

Safety expectations, including harassment, should be reviewed with the host.
