Internship Title: Journalism Intern

Intern will write stories and take photos on school-related activities and people. This will involve interviewing people and taking photos of story subjects and activities. The News publisher and news editor will provide guidance and feedback on assignments. Feedback will include extensive editing of stories, which will require rewrites to improve the story. Stories and photos will appear in the newspaper. Accuracy is important as well as making sure the facts in the story are fairly presented. The intern will need to be in the office AT LEAST once per week. Other times, he or she can work on assignments at school.

THIS DESCRIPTION DOES NOT LIST ALL DUTIES. INTERN MAY BE ASKED TO PERFORM OTHER DUTIES BY THE STAFF OR SUPERVISOR. INTERN WILL BE EVALUATED ON PERFORMANCE OF THE PROJECTS LISTED AS WELL AS INTERACTION WITH EMPLOYEES AND CLIENTS. ON-SITE HOURS WILL BE NEGOTIATED WITH EACH CANDIDATE.

SAFETY EXPECTATIONS, INCLUDING HARASSMENT, SHOULD BE REVIEWED WITH THE HOST.
