Administrative Student Intern

Internship Length: 45 hrs
Office Hours: 8-7 M-F, 8-12 Sat

Position Summary:
The student intern is an opportunity for a student to receive basic job experience and training in working in an adult ESL program.  The student intern provides administrative support and potentially childcare as well as other duties assigned by the Volunteer and Outreach Coordinator.

Accountability:
The student intern is to report to the Volunteer and Outreach Coordinator.

Qualifications:
Good Interpersonal skills
The ability to work independently with a positive attitude
The desire to gain computer and general office skills
The ability to handle sensitive information in a confidential manner

Responsibilities:
  • Willingness to support the Catherine McAuley Center Mission.
  • Assist in office administration at the Catherine McAuley Center.
  • Light typing, data entry, work filing and photocopying.
  • Assist in preparation of mailings, course materials packaging.
  • Make reminder phone calls for center events.
  • Greet visitors to office.
  • Keep all information confidential.
  • Other duties as assigned by supervisor.

THIS DESCRIPTION DOES NOT LIST ALL DUTIES. INTERN MAY BE ASKED TO PERFORM OTHER DUTIES BY THE STAFF OR SUPERVISOR. INTERN WILL BE EVALUATED ON PERFORMANCE OF THE PROJECTS LISTED AS WELL AS INTERACTION WITH EMPLOYEES AND CLIENTS. ON-SITE HOURS WILL BE NEGOTIATED WITH EACH CANDIDATE.

SAFETY EXPECTATIONS, INCLUDING HARASSMENT, SHOULD BE REVIEWED WITH THE HOST.
