Speech Language Pathologist Assistant

Internship Length: 45 hrs
Office Hours: 7-5

Essential Functions:

Participate with direct supervision in structured tasks/games with clients to stimulate speech and language.
Assist with researching and developing individualized therapy material.
Clean toys and oral motor utensils routinely using appropriate germicidal cleaning agent.
Set up therapy room for structured tasks/games.
Straighten up exam rooms and/or Sports Clinic when necessary.
Retrieve therapeutic items for therapist should she ask you.

Minimum Requirements:

Be courteous of patient’s decency and right to privacy.
Professionalism within the clinic is mandatory. We take our patient’s care and progress very seriously.
Direct patient contact is off limits to all volunteers unless under the direct supervision of overseeing physical therapist for educational purposes and/or exposure

THIS DESCRIPTION DOES NOT LIST ALL DUTIES. INTERN MAY BE ASKED TO PERFORM OTHER DUTIES BY THE STAFF OR SUPERVISOR. INTERN WILL BE EVALUATED ON PERFORMANCE OF THE PROJECTS LISTED AS WELL AS INTERACTION WITH EMPLOYEES AND CLIENTS. ON-SITE HOURS WILL BE NEGOTIATED WITH EACH CANDIDATE.

SAFETY EXPECTATIONS, INCLUDING HARASSMENT, SHOULD BE REVIEWED WITH THE HOST.
