Requirements:

  • Student will be required to meet with potential host, prior to final confirmation. 
  •  Student must provide immunization records and be current on all vaccinations.  Influenza is required after Oct 1st.
  • Student must be able to complete 2 hours or more on site, per scheduled shift.
  •  Adhere to department requirements for processes and procedures as listed in  job descriptions functions. 
  • Ability to follow instructions.  Must have strong organizational and communication skills, be a team player, and enjoy working with the public without bias or prejudice.  
  • Must be detail-oriented. Professional and trustworthy conduct is required. Student must be courteous and respectful.

 

Experience/Education:

  • Must be a high school student in good standing.  Must be poised, mature and possess a positive attitude while being flexible.
  • Attire - Compass Memorial's Dress Code and Appearance policy must be followed and will be provided to student prior to start date.
  • Must enjoy working with all age groups without prejudice or bias.
  • Must exercise confidentiality of patient and hospital information.
  • Must be able to lift, carry, push, pull objects weighing at least 25 pounds.

Responsibilities:

·         Delivers meals and collects trays.  Documents patient meal intake.

·         Assists patients with menu selections. 

·         Corrects menus per diet ordered by physician and food preferences. 

·         Demonstrates excellent customer service relationships with external and internal customers.

·         Provide diet overview information to the patient per diet order.

·         Works closely with dietitian in determining special requests for the patients.


THIS DESCRIPTION DOES NOT LIST ALL DUTIES. INTERN MAY BE ASKED TO PERFORM OTHER DUTIES BY THE STAFF OR SUPERVISOR. INTERN WILL BE EVALUATED ON PERFORMANCE OF THE PROJECTS LISTED AS WELL AS INTERACTION WITH EMPLOYEES AND CLIENTS. ON-SITE HOURS WILL BE NEGOTIATED WITH EACH CANDIDATE.

SAFETY EXPECTATIONS, INCLUDING HARASSMENT, SHOULD BE REVIEWED WITH THE HOST.
