Internship Title: Entry Level Automotive Technician Intern

 

Purpose of the Position:

 The purpose of the position is to learn the basics of being an Automotive Service Tech. Learning how to inspect a vehicle, change oil, mount tires, balance tires, and tire repair.

Specific Duties:

  •  Oil change
  • Vehicle inspection
  • Tire rotation
  • Tire mounting
  • Tire balancing
  • Tire repair
  • Electrical system test with a digital volt meter (DVOM)
  • Pull codes with a scan tool
  • Complete a work order on Yes Management System
  • Access repair information

Indirect Duties:

  •  Arrive on time for work.
  • Dress appropriately for work, realizing that you are the company to those who recognize your uniform and/or the company name or logo.
  • Express professional discretion relative to proper dress, posture, voice, words, and acceptable behavior.
  • Assist other technicians as needed.
  • Clean up after the job is done.
  • Take trash, cardboard, and junk tires out.
  • Restock water in refrigerator before leaving at night.
  • Restock and mark used tires in racks

Specific Responsibilities:

  •  Attend meetings as required by management
  • Attend training as required by management
  • Report all problems to management immediately
  • Maintain cleanliness of all vehicles assigned to repair
  • Maintain a good working relationship with all other personnel

THIS DESCRIPTION DOES NOT LIST ALL DUTIES. INTERN MAY BE ASKED TO PERFORM OTHER DUTIES BY THE STAFF OR SUPERVISOR. INTERN WILL BE EVALUATED ON PERFORMANCE OF THE PROJECTS LISTED AS WELL AS INTERACTION WITH EMPLOYEES AND CLIENTS. ON-SITE HOURS WILL BE NEGOTIATED WITH EACH CANDIDATE.

SAFETY EXPECTATIONS, INCLUDING HARASSMENT, SHOULD BE REVIEWED WITH THE HOST.
