Office Hours: 6:00am - 6:00pm

Job Requirements
Minimum 16 years of age
Exhibits a genuine nurturing, caring attitude to all children.
National Career Readiness Certificate (NCRC) is preferred.
Must be able to do the following:
Communicate effectively, including interpersonal skills, oral communication, ability to express ideas clearly, crucial conversations and tact.
Demonstrate dependability, including high work ethic, dedication, timeliness, professionalism, accountability, and commitment.
Demonstrate problem solving, critical thinking and listening, leadership and presentation skills.
Follow basic principles of early childhood care,
Establish and maintain effective, working relationships with children, parents, and center staff.
Lift children up to 50 pounds and use mobility and transfer equipment to lift children with disabilities.
Work with children with physical, intellectual and/or developmental disabilities and/or special healthcare needs.
Pass a background check, including criminal records and child abuse registry.
Complete all required trainings and certifications.

Nature of Work:
Work involves the responsibility for implementing a child care setting for children in the assigned age group.
The teacher assistant is supervised in the care room by the room leader and on a secondary level by the center director. The room leader will provide input to the director regarding the performance evaluation of the room assistant.
The room assistant shall receive training and technical assistance from the room leader, center director, staff nurse and the program specialists.

THIS DESCRIPTION DOES NOT LIST ALL DUTIES. INTERN MAY BE ASKED TO PERFORM OTHER DUTIES BY THE STAFF OR SUPERVISOR. INTERN WILL BE EVALUATED ON PERFORMANCE OF THE PROJECTS LISTED AS WELL AS INTERACTION WITH EMPLOYEES AND CLIENTS. ON-SITE HOURS WILL BE NEGOTIATED WITH EACH CANDIDATE.

SAFETY EXPECTATIONS, INCLUDING HARASSMENT, SHOULD BE REVIEWED WITH THE HOST.
