Veterinarian/Vet Tech Intern

Internship Length: 45 hrs

Essential Functions:

 

• Will work with small and large animals, in clinic and on farms.
• Assist Doctor and Technical Staff with animals during examinations and treatments using restraint when necessary.    
• Feed, water, and exercise dogs and cats.
• General cleaning duties including kennels, clinic floors and shelves, examination rooms, and laundry.
• Lift, carry and stock pet food.
• Answer phones, make appointments and greet clients.
• Check-in and check-out clients using the computer.
• Aid in surgical preparation of patients.
• Will be expected to maintain the privacy and integrity of Clients, Doctors, and other Staff Members.  Any conversations, discussions or other information gathered from the practice is confidential and will remain in the practice.

 

Minimum Requirements:

 

• Enjoy being around people and animals.
• Be dependable, mature, prompt, and a team player.
• Be able to perform routine tasks without supervision.
• Must be courteous, respectful, ethical and trustworthy.
• Math, science and animal husbandry background are a plus.
