Electrical/Mechanical Engineering Intern

Office Hours: 7:00am-4:00pm

Schneider Electric is a multi-national Corporation Headquartered in France. We are dedicated to the idea of allowing our customers across the globe to make the most of their energy. We have a limited number of openings in our Cedar Rapids Technical Center for summer high school internships in the Engineering arena.

Interns will work alongside Engineers and Designers in one of 4 Engineering Groups. Depending on company need, the work could involve:

Failure analysis (Forensic Engineering)
Mechanism design (mechanical and/or mechatronics),
Industry and governmental standard review (environmental, safety, energy efficiency)
Application Engineering (Mechanical or Electrical systems)

Interns will be exposed to:

Advanced Manufacturing Technologies
Computer Simulations of Complex Systems
Stage Gate Product Development Methodologies
Destructive and Non-Destructive Evaluation Methods
Multicultural Work Environments
Global Business Strategies

Requirements:
Basic understanding of hand tool use (socket wrench, screwdriver, etc)
Familiarity with Mathematical concepts including Algebra and Trigonometry
Able to lift 20lbs

THIS DESCRIPTION DOES NOT LIST ALL DUTIES. INTERN MAY BE ASKED TO PERFORM OTHER DUTIES BY THE STAFF OR SUPERVISOR. INTERN WILL BE EVALUATED ON PERFORMANCE OF THE PROJECTS LISTED AS WELL AS INTERACTION WITH EMPLOYEES AND CLIENTS. ON-SITE HOURS WILL BE NEGOTIATED WITH EACH CANDIDATE.

SAFETY EXPECTATIONS, INCLUDING HARASSMENT, SHOULD BE REVIEWED WITH THE HOST.
