Backstage Theatre Assistant

Internship Length: 45 hrs

Essential Functions:

Willingness to pitch in and help with a variety of behind-the-scene tasks such as moving sets, set-building, and costume design and organization.
Lift up to 30-pounds in moving equipment.
Assist with rehearsals and run-throughs.
Help with promotions.
Assist with productions.

Minimum Requirements:

Follow theatre policy on confidentiality.
Ability to follow instructions. Must have good organizational and communication skills, be a team player, and enjoy working with the public without bias or prejudice.
Professional and trustworthy conduct is required. Must be courteous and respectful.
Must be a high school student in good standing. Must be poised, mature and possess a positive attitude while being flexible.
Student must be very flexible with hours and be available in the evenings and weekends.
This internship is only available when in production.

Productions are often located at the Palace Theater in Vinton but sites can vary by production in Benton County.

THIS DESCRIPTION DOES NOT LIST ALL DUTIES. INTERN MAY BE ASKED TO PERFORM OTHER DUTIES BY THE STAFF OR SUPERVISOR. INTERN WILL BE EVALUATED ON PERFORMANCE OF THE PROJECTS LISTED AS WELL AS INTERACTION WITH EMPLOYEES AND CLIENTS. ON-SITE HOURS WILL BE NEGOTIATED WITH EACH CANDIDATE.

SAFETY EXPECTATIONS, INCLUDING HARASSMENT, SHOULD BE REVIEWED WITH THE HOST.
