EVENT & MARKETING INTERNSHIP

 

INTERNSHIP SUMMARY:

Under the direction of the Chief Development & Marketing Officer, the Event & Marketing Intern is responsible for assisting the department with awareness campaigns, event coordination, external marketing efforts, and volunteer engagement.

 

TIME COMMITMENT:

Flexible hours between 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.  This internship may require irregular evening and weekend work hours to assist with events. Must be able to commit to a two month period throughout the internship session.

PRINICIPAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

·         Community Awareness Campaigns

o   Generate excitement and interest for the 10 Red Flags of Domestic/Dating Violence, Gentleman and I believe in Waypoint Campaigns

o   Utilize skills to increase millennial participation 

·         Fundraising Events

o   Assist in planning and executing any of the following events: 1911 Society “Roaring Twenties” Appreciation Event, Waypoint Wonderland, May Baskets for the Homeless, Ride 4 Youth, Tribute to Women of Achievement, and Sleep Out for the Homeless

·         Marketing

o   Help with distribution of marketing materials internally and externally including brochures, flyers, posters, and other marketing materials

o   Create a customized engagement plan for youth

·         Volunteer Engagement

    • Assist with coordinating and promotion of volunteer projects

 

REQUIRED SKILLS

  • Intern MUST BE 18 to participate in this opportunity.  
  • Student will complete additional paperwork and orientation for Waypoint Services.  
  • Intern must have excellent communication, networking and leadership skills. 
  • Experience in sales, marketing or event promotion is preferred. 
  • Must have a positive attitude and commitment to help those in need and have the ability to work independently and manage multiple tasks.

THIS DESCRIPTION DOES NOT LIST ALL DUTIES. INTERN MAY BE ASKED TO PERFORM OTHER DUTIES BY THE STAFF OR SUPERVISOR. INTERN WILL BE EVALUATED ON PERFORMANCE OF THE PROJECTS LISTED AS WELL AS INTERACTION WITH EMPLOYEES AND CLIENTS. ON-SITE HOURS WILL BE NEGOTIATED WITH EACH CANDIDATE.

SAFETY EXPECTATIONS, INCLUDING HARASSMENT, SHOULD BE REVIEWED WITH THE HOST.
