I.

Purpose of Position

Maintenance and installation of KCTC and customer’s facilities of phone, internet and television.

§ Installs and maintains telephone, broadband and IPTV services.

§ Installs and maintains ONT’s, UPS and customer owned-equipment.

§ Diagnoses and repair troubles in plant facilities.

§ Adjusts and repair inside and outside plant for optimal performance.

§ Assist with installation and maintenance of telephone business systems.

§ Promote, sell, install and maintain wireless broadband.

§ Promote, sell, install and maintain home and business network systems.

§ Prepare job specs, pricing/quotes for customer requested information.

§ Monitor, install, maintain, diagnose and repair all IP based voice and data switched and non-switched digital equipment in the KCTC network.

§ Splice and repair new and existing fiber.

§ .Locate KCTC facilities from calls that are disbursed from Iowa One Call.

§ Promote, sell, install and maintain security and smart home equipment.

§ Will be required to work in an on-call rotation for after hours support.

§ Come up with ideas for efficiencies and ways to provide better customer satisfaction.

§ Discuss new project/revenue ideas with GM.

§ Other duties as assigned.

Knowledge & Experience

§ Thorough knowledge of outside plant and updated technology.

§ Computer literacy including advanced knowledge of Microsoft Office products.

§ Ability to prioritize multiple projects.

Environmental Conditions

§ Must possess and maintain a valid driver’s license.

§ Maneuvering and manipulation of materials and equipment weighing up to 50 lbs.

Equipment & Tools

§ Regular use of standard office and outside plant equipment.

THIS DESCRIPTION DOES NOT LIST ALL DUTIES. INTERN MAY BE ASKED TO PERFORM OTHER DUTIES BY THE Staff or SUPERVISOR. INTERN WILL BE EVALUATED ON PERFORMANCE OF THE PROJECTS LISTED AS WELL AS INTERACTION WITH EMPLOYEES AND CLIENTS. On-site HOURS WILL BE negotiated WITH EACH CANDIDATE.
