Internship Title: Crop Scouting Intern

POSITION OVERVIEW:
Combine your classroom knowledge with hands on experiences of real world agronomy. From May to August your days will be spent in the field, weather permitting, identifying yield limiting weeds, insects and diseases.

RESPONSIBILITIES:
»Complete weed, insect, nutrient, and disease identification
»Perform stand count estimations in corn and soybean fields
»Participate in our agronomy department activities
»Communicate with salespersons regarding growers’ fields
»Present field conditions to growers
»Conduct foliar and soil samples when required
»Master scouting techniques
»Provide great customer service and follow-up
»Engage in “special projects” when needed
»Effectively work with other interns
»Maintain a clean, safe working environment
»Other duties as assigned

QUALIFICATIONS:
»Excellent written and oral communication skills
»Self-starter and ability to work without supervision

THIS DESCRIPTION DOES NOT LIST ALL DUTIES. INTERN MAY BE ASKED TO PERFORM OTHER DUTIES BY THE STAFF OR SUPERVISOR. INTERN WILL BE EVALUATED ON PERFORMANCE OF THE PROJECTS LISTED AS WELL AS INTERACTION WITH EMPLOYEES AND CLIENTS. ON-SITE HOURS WILL BE NEGOTIATED WITH EACH CANDIDATE.

SAFETY EXPECTATIONS, INCLUDING HARASSMENT, SHOULD BE REVIEWED WITH THE HOST.
