Outlets Williamsburg is a publicly traded REIT (Real Estate Investment Trust) owning and operating 44 outlet centers across the US and Canada. Outlets Williamsburg is home to over 55 name brand outlets.

 

The Marketing Intern will gain a larger understanding of a marketing position within a large corporation while assisting the General Manager(GM) and Office Administrator (OA) in performing the following tasks:

 

Essential Functions: 

  • Use and model appropriate behavior in keeping with the mission, vision, and beliefs and in accordance with operation procedures and policies.
  • Welcome, value and nurture people of all backgrounds, perspectives, and experiences, as well as support and promote an environment that accepts differences.
  • Creation and distribution of social media posts.
  • Distribute marketing materials to stores.
  • Assist with press releases.
  • Assist with tenant newsletter creation, printing and distribution
  • Assist with management of marketing and promotional materials.

 

 Additional Duties:

For additional opportunities, intern may assist with Williamsburg Area Chamber of Commerce tasks. Both the GM & OA perform various duties for the chamber, including event planning and marketing, creation and distribution of e-newsletter and creation of The Williamsburg Guide.

 

Minimum Requirements:

Skills/Knowledge:  Must have the ability to follow instructions, strong organizational and communication skills, and be courteous and respectful.  Must be a detail-oriented team player.  Professional, trustworthy, and confidential conduct is required.  Intern must enjoy working with the public, be a self-starter, motivated, and able to communicate clearly and concisely both verbally and in writing. 

Experience/Education:  Must be a high school student in good standing, and interested in pursuing a career in marketing, business or retail sales after high school.  Must be poised, mature and possess a positive attitude while being flexible.

Attire: Plan to dress appropriately for a retail sales setting.  Business casual attire is required.

General Physical Activities with or without reasonable accommodation:  Frequent sitting, standing, reaching, walking or lifting up to 30lbs.  Occasional kneeling, crouching, crawling, grasping, pulling, pushing or lifting over 30 lbs. 

 

THIS DESCRIPTION DOES NOT LIST ALL DUTIES. INTERN MAY BE ASKED TO PERFORM OTHER DUTIES BY THE STAFF OR SUPERVISOR. INTERN WILL BE EVALUATED ON PERFORMANCE OF THE PROJECTS LISTED AS WELL AS INTERACTION WITH EMPLOYEES AND CLIENTS. ON-SITE HOURS WILL BE NEGOTIATED WITH EACH CANDIDATE.

SAFETY EXPECTATIONS, INCLUDING HARASSMENT, WILL BE REVIEWED WITH THE HOST.
