Office Hours: Tues-Sun 10AM-9PM

Here at Bass Farms we are passionate about two things: providing fresh vegetables to the Cedar Rapids / Iowa City community and educating the same great community with the benefits of eating green. We have honed our growing and harvesting process over 25 years to maximize our fields, without using harmful chemicals.  Our vegetables are pesticide and herbicide free! At Bass Farms, we bring you the best. Whether it be our top notch Urban Market, our educational Agri-Tours, or our Specialty Food Store with locally sourced and made sauces, jellies, jams, and honey! We also carry Iowa’s Finest, Edgewood Locker Meat products and serve the best ice cream in town!

Essential Functions:

·          Serve as part of the Bass Farm team in a beginning position of learning to pick and manage produce

·          Will be checking and maintaining crops and checking water lines
·          Will also be maintaining and checking the technological systems that keep our growing environment healthy

 · Learn the retail sales environment on a new age farm
·          Model appropriate behavior in keeping with the mission, vision and beliefs of the organization in accordance with operating procedures and policies.


Minimum Requirements:

·     Friendly and positive attitude toward others and able to work in a cooperative manner 
·         Able to work as part of a team, using good communication skills while valuing the work of others.

·         Able to work outside in sun and heat and able to pull, lift, and push push up to 50 pounds
·     Must have a valid driver’s license and/or reliable transportation 


THIS DESCRIPTION DOES NOT LIST ALL DUTIES. INTERN MAY BE ASKED TO PERFORM OTHER DUTIES BY THE STAFF OR SUPERVISOR. INTERN WILL BE EVALUATED ON PERFORMANCE OF THE PROJECTS LISTED AS WELL AS INTERACTION WITH EMPLOYEES AND CLIENTS. ON-SITE HOURS WILL BE NEGOTIATED WITH EACH CANDIDATE.

SAFETY EXPECTATIONS, INCLUDING HARASSMENT, SHOULD BE REVIEWED WITH THE HOST.
