During the 1988-89 school year, a group of Marion Independent School District (MISD) supporters formed a Foundation with the goal of providing students with opportunities that were not typically funded by the school district. Our mission is to maintain, develop, and extend the facilities of the MISD, and to provide broader educational service opportunities to its students, staff, faculty and the residents of the geographical area which it serves.  

Essential Functions:
This position entails program assistance to the Foundation's Executive Director and other staff. As an intern, this position may include the following based on student strengths:


* Assisting with the planning of the annual golf tournament fundraiser and class reunions

* Planning an anniversary event or promotion (30 years for the Foundation/140 years for the Alumni Association)

* Designing print materials

* Creating website and/or social media content

* Logo redesign 

* Working with a donor/alumni database

* Gaining experience collaborating with a Board and Committees

Minimum Requirements:

* The intern must be professional, courteous, respectful, dependable, and willing to work independently or in a team

* Good oral and written communication skills

* Proficiency with computers 

* Strong organizational skills and ability to follow directions

* Flexible time schedule to suit summer office hours 


THIS DESCRIPTION DOES NOT LIST ALL DUTIES. INTERN MAY BE ASKED TO PERFORM OTHER DUTIES BY THE STAFF OR SUPERVISOR. INTERN WILL BE EVALUATED ON PERFORMANCE OF THE PROJECTS LISTED AS WELL AS INTERACTION WITH EMPLOYEES AND CLIENTS. ON-SITE HOURS WILL BE NEGOTIATED WITH EACH CANDIDATE.

SAFETY EXPECTATIONS, INCLUDING HARASSMENT, SHOULD BE REVIEWED WITH THE HOST.
