The Business Office Assistant, under supervision from staff, will have the opportunity to learn more about a career in business through this experience
Essential Functions:
- Use and model appropriate behavior in keeping with the mission, vision, and beliefs of the organization, and in accordance with operation procedures and policies.
- Welcome, value and nurture people of all backgrounds, perspectives, and experiences, as well as support and promote an environment that accepts differences.
- Answer phones &/or greet clients.
- Basic Administrative duties.
- Schedule appointments as needed.
- Check on status of transactions.
- Help keep work areas neat and organized to promote positive image.
Minimum Requirements:
Skills/Knowledge: Must have the ability to follow instructions, strong organizational and communication skills, and be courteous and respectful to clients and staff. Professional, trustworthy, and confidential conduct is required. Intern must enjoy working with the public without bias, and able to communicate clearly and concisely both verbally and in writing. Must possess the ability to think on their feet and work well under pressure.
Experience/Education: Must be a high school student in good standing and interested in pursuing a career in business after high school. Must be poised, mature and possess a positive attitude while being flexible.
Attire: Plan to dress appropriately for an office setting. Business casual attire is required.
General Physical Activities with or without reasonable accommodation: Frequent sitting, standing, reaching, walking or lifting, up to 30lbs. Occasional kneeling, crouching, crawling, grasping, pulling, pushing or lifting over 30 lbs.
THIS DESCRIPTION DOES NOT LIST ALL DUTIES. INTERN MAY BE ASKED TO PERFORM OTHER DUTIES BY THE STAFF OR SUPERVISOR. INTERN WILL BE EVALUATED ON PERFORMANCE OF THE PROJECTS LISTED AS WELL AS INTERACTION WITH EMPLOYEES AND CLIENTS.
ON-SITE HOURS WILL BE NEGOTIATED WITH EACH CANDIDATE.
SAFETY EXPECTATIONS, INCLUDING HARASSMENT, SHOULD BE REVIEWED WITH THE HOST.
