Veterinary Tech Intern

Internship Length: 45 hrs
Office Hours: 8AM - 5PM

Essential Functions:

Will work with small and large animals, in clinic and on farms.
Assist Doctor and Technical Staff with animals during examinations and treatments using restraint when necessary.
Feed, water, and exercise dogs and cats.
Assist in setting up prescriptions (accurate counting, packaging and labeling).
General cleaning duties including kennels, clinic floors and shelves, examination rooms, and laundry.
Check-in clients using the computer.
Aid in surgical preparation of patients.
Help keep work areas neat and organized to promote positive image.
Will be expected to maintain the privacy and integrity of Clients, Doctors, and other Staff Members. Any conversations, discussions or other information gathered from the practice is confidential and will remain in the practice.

Minimum Requirements:

Ability to follow instructions. Must have strong organizational and communication skills, be a team player, and enjoy working with the public without bias or prejudice. Must be detail-oriented. Professional and trustworthy conduct is required. Must be courteous and respectful.

Required to wear scrubs or khaki pants with a plain top.
Must complete Volunteer/Intern Release and Waiver of Liability form prior to starting on site.

All internships are an unpaid learning experience.

THIS DESCRIPTION DOES NOT LIST ALL DUTIES. INTERN MAY BE ASKED TO PERFORM OTHER DUTIES BY THE STAFF OR SUPERVISOR. INTERN WILL BE EVALUATED ON PERFORMANCE OF THE PROJECTS LISTED AS WELL AS INTERACTION WITH EMPLOYEES AND CLIENTS. ON-SITE HOURS WILL BE NEGOTIATED WITH EACH CANDIDATE.
