Communications, Events, and Promotions Intern - Summer

About Us:

The Economic Alliance is a non-profit membership organization that exists to drive economic and workforce population growth, and to help businesses succeed. We work with our 1,200 members on priorities within our core functions areas of business support, community development business retention and expansion and public policy.

 

Role Description:

This internship is designed to provide a dynamic hands-on learning experience for a student interested in communications, marketing and event planning and execution. This internship is available as a 45- or 90-hour internship. This is a summer opportunity but there are times it's available in the Spring or Fall.

 

Role Responsibilities could include:

·         Assist with preparation, logistical planning and day-of execution for the Downtown Farmers Market and other events and programs.

·         Assist in generating content, writing and editing descriptions for events and programs

·         Promote events and programs via member email, social media and monthly newsletter

·         Respond to participant and vendor inquiries

·         Maintain communications with speakers, market vendors, volunteers and event committees

 

Minimum Qualifications:

·         Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite & social media platforms (Facebook, Twitter, etc.)

·         Speaks clearly and persuasively

·         Strong listening skills

·         Strong communications, writing and organizational skills

·         Must be high school student Junior or Senior in good standing

·         Comfortable working in an office setting with COVID safety protocols in place or self-directed at home as both are required for this opportunity

·         Casual attire is usually acceptable but business attire may be required on occasion

 

THIS DESCRIPTION DOES NOT LIST ALL DUTIES. INTERN MAY BE ASKED TO PERFORM OTHER DUTIES BY THE STAFF OR SUPERVISOR. INTERN WILL BE EVALUATED ON PERFORMANCE OF THE PROJECTS LISTED AS WELL AS INTERACTION WITH EMPLOYEES AND CLIENTS. ON-SITE HOURS WILL BE NEGOTIATED WITH EACH CANDIDATE.

SAFETY EXPECTATIONS, INCLUDING HARASSMENT, SHOULD BE REVIEWED WITH THE HOST.
