Language, Memory, and Cognition Research Laboratory

Dr. Renee Penalver, the Principal Investigator for the Coe College Language, Memory, and Cognition Research Laboratory is seeking a summer high school research intern to assist in laboratory tasks. The team is composed of Coe College undergraduate research assistants. The program of research examines how knowing two languages impacts cognition, differences between monolinguals and bilinguals, and engaging the community through cognitive psychology. Dr. Penalver's team is currently examining the effects of the bilingual experience on long-term memory.

If interested in applying for this internship, prepare a cover letter and a curriculum vitae (academic resume) that will be submitted to the professor who heads this research; it will be used for placement selection. Bring this to your interview/meeting with the professor.


This is a summer-only internship. Must be available in June and July for morning hours.

THIS DESCRIPTION DOES NOT LIST ALL DUTIES. INTERN MAY BE ASKED TO PERFORM OTHER DUTIES BY THE STAFF OR SUPERVISOR. INTERN WILL BE EVALUATED ON PERFORMANCE OF THE PROJECTS LISTED AS WELL AS INTERACTION WITH EMPLOYEES AND CLIENTS. ON-SITE HOURS WILL BE NEGOTIATED WITH EACH CANDIDATE.

SAFETY EXPECTATIONS, INCLUDING HARASSMENT, SHOULD BE REVIEWED WITH THE HOST.
