Essential Functions:

 

·         Archiving project drawings or correspondence.

·         Running prints or drawings, collate and organize.

·         Utilizing GIS system to research public utilities.

·         Conducting various studies or engineering reports for internal projects.

·         Utilizing Word, Excel, Power Point and other computer programs.

·         Review of engineering plans, specifications, plats, and reports.

·         Exposure to CADD drafting and other computer design programs.

·         Will ride in city vehicles to engineering job sites with city employees who have clearance to drive, as appropriate.

·         Help keep work areas neat and organized to promote positive image.

·         Use appropriate behavior in keeping with the mission and vision accordance with operating procedures and policies.

 

Minimum Requirements:

 

·         Ability to follow instructions. Professional and trustworthy conduct is required.

·         Must be courteous and respectful. Ability to learn quickly.

·         Communicate clearly and concisely both orally and in writing.

·         Must be poised, mature and possess a positive attitude while being flexible.

·         Business casual attire.

·         This position will entail working with several project managers.

·         Good communication skills and the ability to work with other department staff is essential for this candidate.

 


THIS DESCRIPTION DOES NOT LIST ALL DUTIES. INTERN MAY BE ASKED TO PERFORM OTHER DUTIES BY THE STAFF OR SUPERVISOR. INTERN WILL BE EVALUATED ON PERFORMANCE OF THE PROJECTS LISTED AS WELL AS INTERACTION WITH EMPLOYEES AND CLIENTS. ON-SITE HOURS WILL BE NEGOTIATED WITH EACH CANDIDATE.

SAFETY EXPECTATIONS, INCLUDING HARASSMENT, SHOULD BE REVIEWED WITH THE HOST.
