Internship Title: Auto Tech Intern

Automotive Group that has been serving the Corridor since 1976.

Essential Functions:

Assist and observe certified mechanics.
Secure needed parts from Parts Department for the mechanics.
Observe trained professional(s) in diagnostic procedures.
Assist in the repair of car engines; light mechanical work, tires, maintenance, oil changes, etc.
Shop/vehicle clean-up, including wash, vacuum, cleaning customer vehicles up.
Physical inventory of parts, includes counting inventory and sorting stock orders.
Help keep work areas neat and organized to promote positive image. Use appropriate behavior in keeping with the mission, vision and beliefs and in accordance with operating procedures and policies.

Minimum Requirements:

Skills/Knowledge: Ability to follow instructions. Must be detail-oriented.
Professional and trustworthy conduct is required.
Natural mechanical abilities helpful, along with basic knowledge of tools.
Must be mature and possess a positive attitude while being flexible.
Coveralls and/or jeans (no cargo or baggy) is appropriate.

This description does not list all duties. Intern may be asked to perform other duties by the staff or supervisor. Intern will be evaluated on performance of the projects listed as well as interaction with employees and clients. On-site hours will be negotiated with each candidate.

Safety expectations, including harassment, should be reviewed with the host.
