Office Hours: 9:00-5:00 M-F

REPORTS TO: Executive Director (ED) and/or Outreach Coordinator (OC)

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
* Support Chains Interrupted (CI) in their mission of fighting against the evils of Human Trafficking until there is NOT.ONE.SLAVE left in Iowa, the US...and the world.
* Represent CI in a positive, professional manner in all aspects and all settings.
*  Assist ED with day to day logistics of setting up, organizing and running operations, especially logistics and administrative functions.
* Help receive and organize any in-kind donations acquired.
* Assist ED and OC with logistics and promotion support for awareness, prevention, and fundraising events to help educate & raise awareness on the issue of human trafficking,
and build stronger relationships with stakeholders (and potential stakeholders).
* Assist OC recruiting, coordinating & communicating with volunteers as requested.
* Lead volunteers with OC in creation of ideas and materials for outreach events.
* Propose new ideas to improve the event planning and implementation process.
* Generate thank-you notes and assist in general outreach efforts to new and existing supports
* Attend Speaker’s Bureau training, agreeing to use the materials within the limitations and permissions as intended.
* Attend anti-Human Trafficking Coalition (quarterly).
* Actively seek out speaking opportunities in community in variety of sectors (churches, businesses, schools, non-profit/service organizations, etc.) for CI to present anti-Human
Trafficking awareness and prevention information; possibly present with ED and/or other approved speakers on CI’s Speakers Bureau
* Advocate and professionally represent Chains Interrupted at any events including but not limited to parades, fairs, booths, speaking engagements as assigned by ED or OC
and other various activities.
* Perform other tasks as assigned.

REQUIREMENTS:
* Faithful, Available, and Teachable! Eager to learn about anti-Human Trafficking efforts and grow personally and professionally.
* Ability to take direction and follow instructions from a variety of leaders within CI, most of whom are volunteers themselves.
* Must be poised, mature, humble and possess a positive attitude while being flexible.
* Must be courteous and respectful; professional and trustworthy conduct is required.
*  Good communication, organization and interpersonal skills.
* Able to use basic office equipment including, telephone, copier, fax, computer.
* Working knowledge of MS Office Suite (ie. Word, Excel, Power Point, etc), Google Drive Suite (Docs, Sheets, Slides, etc), internet, email strongly preferred, and/or willingness &
ability to learn; Publisher, Canva, or other creative design programs are an added bonus!
* Prompt and dependable, takes pride and ownership in work.
* Must be a self-starter, team player, able to perform routine tasks without being prompted.
* Enjoy working with the public, and treating every person with dignity and respect regardless of it is being reciprocated; being self-aware of personal implicit biases (which
we all possess), and actively working towards reducing them with the goal of being free of prejudice and bias. (ie. Compassion and care for all people!)
* Provide own transportation, insurance, and parking costs.
* Must adhere to the mission, vision and professional work environment of Chains Interrupted.
* Must be a junior or senior in HS or college student in good academic standing. (If this requirement is not currently met, must be willing to discuss with CI and advisor the
barriers affecting current academic standing. Must be willing to create improvement plan and be held accountable to working towards successfully achieving these goals.)
* Business Casual attire is required.

THIS DESCRIPTION DOES NOT LIST ALL DUTIES. INTERN MAY BE ASKED TO PERFORM OTHER DUTIES BY THE STAFF OR SUPERVISOR. INTERN WILL BE EVALUATED ON PERFORMANCE OF THE PROJECTS LISTED AS WELL AS INTERACTION WITH EMPLOYEES AND CLIENTS. ON-SITE HOURS WILL BE NEGOTIATED WITH EACH CANDIDATE.

SAFETY EXPECTATIONS, INCLUDING HARASSMENT, SHOULD BE REVIEWED WITH THE HOST.
