Industrial Maintenance Intern

Internship Length: 45 hrs
Office Hours: To be Determined

Description, Expectations, and Evaluation Process:
-  Manufacturing maintenance requires a thorough understanding of electrical, electronic, hydraulics, pneumatic and mechanical apparatuses and their given function.
-  Introduction to all items listed above and navigating the complexity of these.
-  Observing and communicating with maintenance personnel.
-  Understanding machine and electronics readiness.
-  Make repairs as needed
-  Determine the need for outside help
-  Research and order repair items
-  Researching for most effective components
-  Purchasing of raw materials and components
-  Observation and communication with journeymen
-  Understanding the importance of timely repair

Expectations include but not limited to:
-  Respect of the employee’s time and experience, patience with down time caused by unexpected distractions to employee. Ask questions, but don’t accept answers you don’t understand. Learn what we do.

Evaluation:
-  Constant checks with the intern by management. This check will be not only directed to the intern but all employees involved in the internship. Reports available upon request.

THIS DESCRIPTION DOES NOT LIST ALL DUTIES. INTERN MAY BE ASKED TO PERFORM OTHER DUTIES BY THE STAFF OR SUPERVISOR. INTERN WILL BE EVALUATED ON PERFORMANCE OF THE PROJECTS LISTED AS WELL AS INTERACTION WITH EMPLOYEES AND CLIENTS. ON-SITE HOURS WILL BE NEGOTIATED WITH EACH CANDIDATE.

SAFETY EXPECTATIONS, INCLUDING HARASSMENT, SHOULD BE REVIEWED WITH THE HOST.
