We are a family run pharmacy with seven locations in East Central Iowa.

Description of Role:

Shadow and assist pharmacist and pharmacy techs with the following tasks: dispensing prescriptions, gathering patient data, putting away drug orders, ordering inventory, and maintaining insurance information.
Review mail, file Rx’s, order office supplies.
Help keep work areas neat and organized to promote positive image. Use appropriate behavior in keeping with the organization’s mission, vision and beliefs, and in accordance with operating procedures and policies.

Minimum Requirements:

Skills/Knowledge: Ability to follow instructions, strong organizational and communication skills, ability to be a team player, and enjoy working with the public without bias or prejudice. Detail-oriented, professional, trustworthy, courteous and respectful. Ability to conduct service with utmost respect for confidentiality.
Experience/Education: Must be a high school student in good standing. Must be poised, mature and possess a positive attitude while being flexible.
Attire: Professional attire is required – no jeans, short skirts, or tshirts.
Student must complete and send the following form to the Iowa Pharmacy Board within 30-days of starting internship: https://pharmacy.iowa.gov/sites/default/files/documents/2015/07/58.pdf If the internship is less than 30-days, the student does not need to register with the state.

THIS DESCRIPTION DOES NOT LIST ALL DUTIES. INTERN MAY BE ASKED TO PERFORM OTHER DUTIES BY THE STAFF OR SUPERVISOR. INTERN WILL BE EVALUATED ON PERFORMANCE OF THE PROJECTS LISTED AS WELL AS INTERACTION WITH EMPLOYEES AND CLIENTS. ON-SITE HOURS WILL BE NEGOTIATED WITH EACH CANDIDATE.

SAFETY EXPECTATIONS, INCLUDING HARASSMENT, SHOULD BE REVIEWED WITH THE HOST.
