Communications/Conservation Aide Intern

Office Hours: 8am - 5pm

 

“The Iowa County Conservation Board’s mission is to acquire, develop, and maintain parks, recreational areas, forests, wildlife, and other conservation areas, to encourage conservation, education, and to improve the quality of life in Iowa County"

Description: This position, under the general supervision of ICC Director & Naturalist staff, will will include at least 45 hours. In person hours will be based on student availability, and can provide some flexibility. It will provide opportunities to run social media, work with the public, and learn policy and natural resource management skills.  Internship Description will be reassessed after second interview with student, and tailored to that individual's internship learning goals.

Duties:

-     Run and update social media sites

-     Learn and create policy

-     Run equipment and do maintenance tasks

-     Write articles for the County Conservation newsletter

-     Assist with educational programs and displays

-     Other duties as assigned

Qualifications:

-     Good work habits and ethics

-     Must be able to work in-person and remotely

-     Able to handle weather, terrain, and physical demands.

-     Demonstrated interest in natural resource management

This description does not list all the duties. Intern may be asked to perform other duties by the staff or supervisor. Intern will be evaluated on performance of the projects listed as well as interaction with employees and clients. On-site hours will be negotiated with each candidate.
