The project requires the use of Python.  This company uses a proprietary road map description for simulation, and traffic is placed on the road map manually through the use of a GUI tool called ISAT.  Attached is a screenshot of one such roadmap.

Company would like to enhance their scenario authoring capability with a python tool that can populate the entire road map with ambient traffic.  This would be a significant improvement over current methods.

The project will require the use of a number of input files be processed to get vehicle models and road information, and ideally a parameter input file as well.  In the event the programming goes well, it would be extended with the development of a simple GUI that allows a user to select specific roads for processing (browser based and not necessarily in python).

This tool would ultimately be deployed across the miniSim customer base, to facilitate scenario authoring for many labs.  For examples please follow the link:

This position is off-site (remote).  Zoom/Microsoft Team meetings will happen on a regular basis to ensure efficient communication.  A couple zoom meetings each day initially, to identify tasks/progress at the start and to identify issues and possible solutions in a timely manner (ie, at the beginning and end of shift as needed).

 

THIS DESCRIPTION DOES NOT LIST ALL DUTIES. INTERN MAY BE ASKED TO PERFORM OTHER DUTIES BY THE STAFF OR SUPERVISOR. INTERN WILL BE EVALUATED ON PERFORMANCE OF THE PROJECTS LISTED AS WELL AS INTERACTION WITH EMPLOYEES AND CLIENTS. ON-SITE HOURS WILL BE NEGOTIATED WITH EACH CANDIDATE.

SAFETY EXPECTATIONS, INCLUDING HARASSMENT, SHOULD BE REVIEWED WITH THE HOST.
