Work Environment:
Home Town Restyling operates both in a professional office environment and a job site environment. Office Environment - While performing the duties of this role, the intern may use standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, filing cabinets and fax machines. The noise level in the work environment is usually quiet.  Job site environments - While performing the duties of this role, the intern may be exposed to fumes or airborne particles, moving mechanical parts and vibration. The intern may be occasionally exposed to a variety of extreme conditions. The noise level in the work environment can be loud. 

Essential Functions:

  • Learn through observation of various trades (concrete, carpentry, drywall) in the window crews, siding crews, kitchen crews, bathroom crews, and decks crews.
  • Student must be a junior or senior in high school and be at least 16.
  • Help keep jobsite neat and organized to promote positive image.
  • Use appropriate behavior in keeping with the mission, vision and beliefs and in accordance with operating procedures and policies.

Minimum Requirements:

  • Have an interest in pursuing a career in the trades.
  • Ability to follow instructions. Strong communication skills.
  • Able to work with the public without bias or prejudice. Must be courteous and respectful.
  • Student must wear appropriate clothing (nothing loose or baggy) and should wear a work shoe or boot.  Professional appearance is essential.

 

THIS DESCRIPTION DOES NOT LIST ALL DUTIES. INTERN MAY BE ASKED TO PERFORM OTHER DUTIES BY THE STAFF OR SUPERVISOR. INTERN WILL BE EVALUATED ON PERFORMANCE OF THE PROJECTS LISTED AS WELL AS INTERACTION WITH EMPLOYEES AND CLIENTS. ON-SITE HOURS WILL BE NEGOTIATED WITH EACH CANDIDATE.

SAFETY EXPECTATIONS, INCLUDING HARASSMENT, SHOULD BE REVIEWED WITH THE HOST.
