Costume Crew Intern

Internship Length: 45 hrs
Office Hours: evenings/weekends

“Together, We Create the Magic of Live Theatre.” As costume crew, you will be part of the excitement of live theatre. You will be an important member of each production, making urgent repairs and helping with quick costume changes backstage during dress rehearsals and performances. Your presence is a comfort backstage! Actors greatly appreciate our costume crew. If they forgot a costume piece or need help changing, you have the opportunity to save the day!

Functions:

You might be the right if…
You are comfortable braiding hair or helping with pin curls to go under a wig cap!
Your are interested theatre, specifically in costuming, fashion, and design!
You are willing to assist with cast measurements or act as scribes!
You are competent at sewing and can assist at pinning hems and alterations!
You are able to assist with costume changes backstage during rehearsals and performances!
You want to meet lots of fun, creative people (costume crew, stagehands, actors, musicians)!
You wan to be active and involved in your community in a creative venue!

Requirements:

   You love working with people and have a positive attitude!
You have a friendly, flexible attitude that offers support to actors and fellow crew members!
                You work well under pressure!
You are able to follow directions and have an eye for detail.
                Your are able to creatively solve problems!
                You are able to work as part of a team!
                You are responsible and dependable, and will show up when scheduled and on time!
Costume crew volunteers are required to be at technical and dress rehearsals.
Technical rehearsal will usually be an all day event the Saturday before the show opens.
Dress rehearsals are Monday-Wednesday evenings during opening week.
Opportunities are mostly available during evening and weekend hours.

THIS DESCRIPTION DOES NOT LIST ALL DUTIES. INTERN MAY BE ASKED TO PERFORM OTHER DUTIES BY THE STAFF OR SUPERVISOR. INTERN WILL BE EVALUATED ON PERFORMANCE OF THE PROJECTS LISTED AS WELL AS INTERACTION WITH EMPLOYEES AND CLIENTS. ON-SITE HOURS WILL BE NEGOTIATED WITH EACH CANDIDATE.

SAFETY EXPECTATIONS, INCLUDING HARASSMENT, SHOULD BE REVIEWED WITH THE HOST.
