 A.D. Internship Responsibilities

Supervision responsibilities when multiple events occur.  Supervision and set-up for 9-10, JV, or Varsity vary per sports in season.

  1. Check over locker room for visiting team, make sure it is clean.
  2. Greet visiting team take to locker room, make visiting coach aware of any special circumstances or activities.
  3. Greet officials take to locker room, make sure officials sign paperwork. Make sure they have a game ball available.
  4. Money boxes for ticket takers and sellers, greet them and let them know any special circumstances.
  5. Greet any media people and get them to assigned area.
  6. Greet opposing team administration. Make them aware of any special circumstances.
  7. At halftime escort officials to locker room and get them drinks.
  8. Shut down ticket takers and sellers shortly after halftime.
  9. Supervision responsibilities as assigned.
  10. After game escort officials to locker room get them something to drink and eat.
  11. Get locker room key back from visiting team.
  12. Start cleanup as assigned.
  13.  Check visiting team locker room and official’s locker room to make sure they did not leave anything behind.

Minimum Requirements:

  • Must be a high school student in good standing. Must be poised, mature and possess a positive attitude while being flexible.
  • Ability to follow instructions, have good organizational and communication skills and be a team player.  Must be detail-oriented.
  • Professional and trustworthy conduct is required. Must be courteous and respectful. 
  • Enjoy working with athletes, be a self-starter, and motivated.
  • Should have at least a basic knowledge of the sports being played.
  • This internship is after school if during the school year, during the day if in the summer, in the evenings, and on weekends. Intern will be at athletic sites that may be outdoors and should plan and dress accordingly.

 

 

THIS DESCRIPTION DOES NOT LIST ALL DUTIES. INTERN MAY BE ASKED TO PERFORM OTHER DUTIES BY THE STAFF OR SUPERVISOR. INTERN WILL BE EVALUATED ON PERFORMANCE OF THE PROJECTS LISTED AS WELL AS INTERACTION WITH EMPLOYEES AND CLIENTS. ON-SITE HOURS WILL BE NEGOTIATED WITH EACH CANDIDATE.

SAFETY EXPECTATIONS, INCLUDING HARASSMENT, SHOULD BE REVIEWED WITH THE HOST.
