  Internship Length: 45 or 90 hours

Essential Functions:

  • Use and model appropriate behavior in keeping with the mission, vision, and beliefs of the organization, and in accordance with operation procedures and policies.
  • Welcome, value and nurture people of all backgrounds, perspectives, and experiences, as well as support and promote an environment that accepts differences.
  • Create content to help promote our chamber businesses and organizations.
  •  Attend community events to develop relationships, promote community organizations, and help with the visibility of the Chamber.
  • Participate in the planning, organizing, and executing of events. Our events are a good mix of family events for the community, events to promote chamber businesses, and fundraisers.
  • Communication with press, chamber members, and community members  through phone calls and email communication.
  • Help keep work areas neat and clean to promote a positive image

Minimum Requirements:

Skills/Knowledge:  Must have a positive attitude, the ability to follow instructions, strong organizational and communication skills, and be courteous and respectful.  Must be a detail-oriented team player.  Professional, trustworthy, and confidential conduct is required.  Intern must enjoy working with the public without bias, be a self-starter, motivated, and able to communicate clearly and concisely both verbally and in writing.

Experience/Education:  Must be a high school student in good standing, and interested in pursuing a career in business after high school.  Familiarity with Google Docs, Outlook, Facebook and Instagram are recommended but not required.

Attire: Plan to dress appropriately for an office setting.  Jeans without holes, dress pants or khakis, closed toed shoes, and conservative tops are all ok. 

General Physical Activities with or without reasonable accommodation:  Frequent sitting, standing, reaching, walking or lifting up to 30lbs.  Occasional kneeling, crouching, crawling, grasping, pulling, pushing or lifting over 30 lbs. 


THIS DESCRIPTION DOES NOT LIST ALL DUTIES. INTERN MAY BE ASKED TO PERFORM OTHER DUTIES BY THE STAFF OR SUPERVISOR. INTERN WILL BE EVALUATED ON PERFORMANCE OF THE PROJECTS LISTED AS WELL AS INTERACTION WITH EMPLOYEES AND CLIENTS. ON-SITE HOURS WILL BE NEGOTIATED WITH EACH CANDIDATE.

SAFETY EXPECTATIONS, INCLUDING HARASSMENT, WILL BE REVIEWED WITH THE HOST.
