Construction Management Intern, under general supervision from staff, will have the opportunity to learn about a career in construction through the internship experience. Career areas highlighted may be: Shop-Diesel Mechanics, Safety, Project Management, Estimating, Accounting, Human Resources, Trucking, Heavy Equipment Operating, Project Operations, Planning & Scheduling, GPS. Emphasis may be placed on specific areas pending the student interview.

Essential Functions:

Minimum Requirements:

Skills/Knowledge: Must have the ability to follow instructions, strong organizational and communication skills, and be courteous and respectful. Must be a detail-oriented team player. Professional, trustworthy, and confidential conduct is required. Intern must enjoy working with the public without bias, be a self-starter, motivated, and able to communicate clearly and concisely both verbally and in writing. Must possess the ability to think on their feet and work well under pressure.

Experience/Education: Must be a high school student in good standing and interested in pursuing a career in construction after high school. Must be mature and possess a positive attitude while being flexible.

Attire: Plan to dress appropriately for a shop setting. Closed toed shoes, long pants, or jeans without holes. Intern may need to be prepared to dress for varied weather conditions and should be prepared to get dirty.

General Physical Activities with or without reasonable accommodation: Occasional sitting, standing, reaching, walking, or lifting up to 30lbs. Frequent kneeling, crouching, crawling, grasping, pulling, pushing or lifting over 30 lbs.

Travel: Student may be allowed to travel away from the main office to observe work sites. Internship Worksite Visit Consent Form must be completed for students under the age of 18 to travel off site.
