MidwestOne Bank has 56 locations across Iowa, Minnesota, Wisconsin, Colorado and Florida.  This Internship Description relates to Internships hosted in the Belle Plaine location. 

 

The Customer Service Intern, under direct supervision from MidwestOne staff, will have the opportunity to learn more about a career through their internship experience.

Essential Functions:

  • Use and model appropriate behavior in keeping with the mission, vision, and beliefs of the organization, and in accordance with operation procedures and policies.
  • Welcome, value and nurture people of all backgrounds, perspectives, and experiences, as well as support and promote an environment that accepts differences.
  • Actively greet and welcomes members and non-members at the door; directing them to the correct professionals, and assist the team to meet sales and service goals.
  • Accurately and completely handle all member inquiries and transactions daily
  • Assist with opening and closing procedures, assuring all member contacts and information are handled thoroughly in a friendly, efficient, confidential, and professional manner.
  • Receive and process financial transactions and mail.
  • maintain a professional work environment and businesslike appearance of self and area at all times.
  • Perform any other duties as assigned by the Supervisor or Management.

 

Minimum Requirements:

Skills/Knowledge:  Must have the ability to follow instructions, strong organizational and communication skills, and be courteous and respectful.  Must be a detail-oriented team player.  Professional, trustworthy, and confidential conduct is required.  Intern must enjoy working with the public without bias, be a self-starter, motivated, and able to communicate clearly and concisely both verbally and in writing.  Courtesy, tact, and diplomacy are essential elements of the job. Work involves personal contact with others inside and/or outside the organization, generally regarding routine matters for purposes of giving or obtaining information.  Must be poised, mature possess a positive attitude and the ability to think on their feet and work well under pressure.

 

Experience/Education:  Must be a high school student in good standing, a senior over the age of 18 is preferred.  Requires the ability to use simple arithmetic, the ability to read and understand written instructions, standard practices, and procedures. Be able to operate and utilize data processing, adding machines, Microsoft Office applications, and other related machines.

 

Attire: Plan to dress appropriately for a veterinary clinic setting.  Closed toed shoes, long pants or jeans without holes.  Intern may need to be prepared to dress for varied outdoor weather conditions, and should be prepared to get dirty

 

General Physical Activities with or without reasonable accommodation:  Frequent sitting, standing, reaching, walking or lifting up to 30lbs.  Occasional kneeling, crouching, crawling, grasping, pulling, pushing or lifting over 30 lbs. 

THIS DESCRIPTION DOES NOT LIST ALL DUTIES. INTERN MAY BE ASKED TO PERFORM OTHER DUTIES BY THE STAFF OR SUPERVISOR. INTERN WILL BE EVALUATED ON PERFORMANCE OF THE PROJECTS LISTED AS WELL AS INTERACTION WITH EMPLOYEES AND CLIENTS. ON-SITE HOURS WILL BE NEGOTIATED WITH EACH CANDIDATE.
