The Photography Assistant Intern, under direct supervision of the owner, will observe and assist the owner during their day to day work.  The intern will learn more about a potential career in photography through this experience.

Essential Functions:

  • Use and model appropriate behavior in keeping with the mission, vision, and beliefs of the organization, and in accordance with operation procedures and policies. 
  • Welcome, value and nurture people of all backgrounds, perspectives, and experiences, as well as support and promote an environment that accepts differences.
  • Help keep work areas neat and organized to promote positive image.
  • Learn the basic functions of a camera.  Understand Aperture, Exposure, ISO, etc.  
  • Understand the basic differences in lenses. 
  • Assist during shoots (seniors, newborns, family, weddings).
  • Assist with all equipment, packing, loading, unloading & background set up..
  • Gain a basic knowledge of PS & Lightroom editing software.
  • Gain the basic knowledge of lighting outdoor and in the studio.

Minimum Requirements:

  • Skills/Knowledge:  Ability to meet & deal with people in a pleasant manner, be courteous and respectful.  Intern must be prompt, dependable, and take pride & ownership in work.  Maintain a positive attitude, be polite, energetic, self-motivated, and detail oriented.  Intern should be a self-starter, team focused & perform tasks without being prompted.  Professional, trustworthy, and confidential conduct is required.  Intern must be able to communicate effectively both verbally and in writing. 
  • Experience/Education:  Must be a high school student in good standing.  Must be poised, mature and possess a positive attitude while being flexible.  Must possess good problem solving skills.
  • Attire: Business Casual Attire (unless assisting with a wedding) Mask must be worn when working with newborns.
  • General Physical Activities with or without reasonable accommodation:  Frequent walking, sitting, standing, kneeling, crouching, reaching, grasping, and lifting up to 30lbs.  Occasional pulling, pushing and lifting over 30 lbs.  

THIS DESCRIPTION DOES NOT LIST ALL DUTIES. INTERN MAY BE ASKED TO PERFORM OTHER DUTIES BY THE STAFF OR SUPERVISOR. INTERN WILL BE EVALUATED ON PERFORMANCE OF THE PROJECTS LISTED AS WELL AS INTERACTION WITH EMPLOYEES AND CLIENTS. ON-SITE HOURS WILL BE NEGOTIATED WITH EACH CANDIDATE.

SAFETY EXPECTATIONS, INCLUDING HARASSMENT, SHOULD BE REVIEWED WITH THE HOST.
