Barber Assistant Intern

Internship Length: 45 hrs
Office Hours: 9-6 M-F; 7-4 Sat

Essential Functions:

Observe Customer Service/Learning

Sweep, dust, organize, laundry, etc.

Greet customers and answer the phone/scheduling clients, as appropriate

Assist with retail product display arrangements

Observe barbers and stylists per interest and per Iowa regulations

Help keep work areas neat and organized to promote positive image

Minimum Requirements:

Skills/Knowledge: Ability to follow instructions. Must be able to communicate well and be comfortable working with the public. Professional conduct and dependability required. Must be courteous and respectful to clientele and staff.

Must be a high school junior or senior and have an interest in being a barber.

Casual work attire (jeans are okay if they are dark and have no holes)

THIS DESCRIPTION DOES NOT LIST ALL DUTIES. INTERN MAY BE ASKED TO PERFORM OTHER DUTIES BY THE STAFF OR SUPERVISOR. INTERN WILL BE EVALUATED ON PERFORMANCE OF THE PROJECTS LISTED AS WELL AS INTERACTION WITH EMPLOYEES AND CLIENTS. ON-SITE HOURS WILL BE NEGOTIATED WITH EACH CANDIDATE.

SAFETY EXPECTATIONS, INCLUDING HARASSMENT, SHOULD BE REVIEWED WITH THE HOST.
