Internship Title: Culinary Intern

Essential Functions:

·         Food Preparation: Assisting with food preparation and cooking, including chopping vegetables, preparing sauces, and cooking dishes.

·         Kitchen Cleanliness: Maintaining a clean and organized workspace, including cleaning equipment and prepping stations.

·         Follow instructions: Following recipes and presentation specifications, ensuring dishes are prepared according to standards.

·         Food Safety and Sanitation: Adhering to food safety and sanitation guidelines, including proper food handling and storage practices.

·         Support to Kitchen Staff: Assisting kitchen staff with various tasks, including meal preparation and inventory management.

Minimum Requirements:

·         Skills/Knowledge: Must enjoy people, be prompt and dependable, take pride and ownership in work.

·         Must be a self-starter, team player and able to perform routine tasks without being prompted.

·         Must be a high school student in good standing.

·         Must be poised, mature and possess a positive attitude while being flexible. Ability to follow instructions.  Professional and trustworthy conduct is required.  Must be courteous and respectful.

·         Culinary or professional kitchen experience a plus.

·         Long hair must be pulled back.

·         Sanitary guidelines must be always followed.

·         Must follow safety guidelines as demonstrated and defined by the site host.

 

THIS DESCRIPTION DOES NOT LIST ALL DUTIES. INTERN MAY BE ASKED TO PERFORM OTHER DUTIES BY THE STAFF OR SUPERVISOR. INTERN WILL BE EVALUATED ON PERFORMANCE OF THE PROJECTS LISTED AS WELL AS INTERACTION WITH EMPLOYEES AND CLIENTS. ON-SITE HOURS WILL BE NEGOTIATED WITH EACH CANDIDATE.

SAFETY EXPECTATIONS, INCLUDING HARASSMENT, SHOULD BE REVIEWED WITH THE HOST.
