Minimum Requirements

· Applicant must be a high school student with wiliness to learn and in good academic standing

· Must be professional, courteous, respectful, dependable, and work in a team environment

· Must follow HIPPA privacy rules

· Direct patient contact is not allowed during internship unless for educational purposes with clinical instructor and patient consent

· Ability to follow instructions

· Strong organizational and communication skills.

· Dress professional casual

· Must enjoy working with people and have an interest in physical therapy

Essential Functions:

· Observe physical therapists with full interest

· Be actively involved by asking appropriate questions

· Perform tasks such as cleaning gym equipment, assisting with laundry duties, and cleaning treatment rooms

· Aid in keeping workplace neat and organized

· Assist clinicians when asked

· General office duties

· Use appropriate behavior in keeping with the mission, vision and beliefs and in accordance with operating procedures and policies

Guidelines:

· Patient charts and forms may only be read by student with direct supervision of clinician and consent of the patient

· Weekly discussion of the intern’s focus questions and other assignments
