Farm to Future Earth Internship School

Internship Length: 45 hrs

The Farm-to-Future Earth Summer Internship is a unique opportunity for 10 high school students to gain hands-on experience in sustainable agriculture. Participants will develop practical horticultural skills while engaging in meaningful agricultural practices. Students will spend ten intensive field days at the Johnson County Historic Poor Farm, working alongside experienced mentors to cultivate and harvest. Participants will also visit the Kirkwood CC farm, explore the Iowa State Johnson County Extension Office, explore Wilson's Orchard, attend the Iowa City Farmers Market and attend the Fall Ag Career Fair in Washington County.

Students will create presentations, articles, and social media content to showcase their experiences and insights gained during the program.
