Overview:
This internship introduces high school students to the principles and practices of management in a professional setting. Interns will observe and assist managers as they plan, organize, and oversee day-to-day operations. The experience provides insight into leadership, teamwork, and problem-solving in a business or organizational environment.
Key Responsibilities May Include:
- Shadow managers during meetings, project planning, and team coordination
- Assist with administrative tasks such as organizing documents, tracking schedules, or preparing reports
- Observe how managers communicate with team members, make decisions, and solve workplace challenges
- Learn about workplace policies, organizational structure, and professional communication
- Gain exposure to teamwork, leadership, and decision-making in a professional environment
- Completing assignments, reflection journals, or internship workbook entries as required by the program
Learning Outcomes:
- Understand the role of a manager in guiding teams and achieving organizational goals
- Learn about planning, organization, and effective communication strategies
- Gain awareness of problem-solving, leadership, and workplace professionalism

THIS DESCRIPTION DOES NOT LIST ALL DUTIES. INTERN MAY BE ASKED TO PERFORM OTHER DUTIES BY THE STAFF OR SUPERVISOR. INTERN WILL BE EVALUATED ON PERFORMANCE OF THE PROJECTS LISTED AS WELL AS INTERACTION WITH EMPLOYEES AND CLIENTS. ON-SITE HOURS WILL BE NEGOTIATED WITH EACH CANDIDATE.
SAFETY EXPECTATIONS, INCLUDING HARASSMENT, SHOULD BE REVIEWED WITH THE HOST.
