Overview:
This internship introduces high school students to the field of finance and financial management. Interns will observe and assist finance professionals as they analyze budgets, track expenses, and support business or personal financial planning. Experience provides insight into money management, decision-making, and the role of finance in organizations and daily life.
Key Responsibilities May Include:
· Shadow finance professionals during daily tasks, meetings, and financial planning activities
· Assist with support tasks such as organizing documents, updating spreadsheets, or preparing financial reports
· Observe how professionals analyze data, manage budgets, and make financial decisions
· Learn about accounting principles, financial planning, and investment basics
· Gain exposure to professional communication, teamwork, and problem-solving in financial environments
· Completing assignments, reflection journals, or internship workbook entries as required by the program
Learning Outcomes:
· Understand the role of finance professionals in managing money and financial operations
· Learn about budgeting, financial reporting, and basic investment concepts
· Gain awareness of ethics, professionalism, and accuracy in financial work
· Develop observation, organizational, and analytical skills

Additional Information:

THIS DESCRIPTION DOES NOT LIST ALL DUTIES. INTERN MAY BE ASKED TO PERFORM OTHER DUTIES BY THE STAFF OR SUPERVISOR. INTERN WILL BE EVALUATED ON PERFORMANCE OF THE PROJECTS LISTED AS WELL AS INTERACTION WITH EMPLOYEES AND CLIENTS. ON-SITE HOURS WILL BE NEGOTIATED WITH EACH CANDIDATE.
