Overview:

This internship introduces high school students to the real estate industry. Interns will observe real estate agents and brokers as they assist clients, manage properties, and handle transactions. The experience provides insight into property management, sales, marketing, and professional communication in the real estate field.

Responsibilities May Include:

·         Shadow real estate agents or brokers during client meetings, property showings, and office activities

·         Assist with administrative tasks such as organizing property listings, preparing marketing materials, or updating databases

·         Observe how professionals handle contracts, negotiations, and client communications

·         Learn about real estate laws, ethical standards, and professional conduct

·         Support staff with research on properties, market trends, and neighborhood data

·         Gain exposure to networking, marketing strategies, and sales processes

·         Completing assignments, reflection journals, or internship workbook entries as required by the program

Learning Outcomes:

·         Understand the role of real estate professionals in buying, selling, and managing properties

·         Learn about property evaluation, contracts, and client service

·         Gain awareness of professional ethics, communication, and business practices

·         Develop organizational, research, and interpersonal skills

·         Explore career and educational pathways in real estate, property management, and business

Additional Information:

·         Interns will primarily observe and assist with support tasks; they will not engage in independent property transactions

·         Compliance with confidentiality, dress code, and workplace policies is expected

·         Some placements may require flexible hours for property showings or client meetings

THIS DESCRIPTION DOES NOT LIST ALL DUTIES. INTERN MAY BE ASKED TO PERFORM OTHER DUTIES BY THE STAFF OR SUPERVISOR. INTERN WILL BE EVALUATED ON PERFORMANCE OF THE PROJECTS LISTED AS WELL AS INTERACTION WITH EMPLOYEES AND CLIENTS. ON-SITE HOURS WILL BE NEGOTIATED WITH EACH CANDIDATE.

SAFETY EXPECTATIONS, INCLUDING HARASSMENT, SHOULD BE REVIEWED WITH THE HOST.
